Jim Soltesz Briefs MBIA Board on Regulatory Reform Efforts

Jim Soltesz, President & CEO, was invited to participate at the Maryland Building Industry Association’s (MBIA) February Board meeting to discuss the efforts of the Regulatory Reform Commission, of which Mr. Soltesz serves as Co-Chair.

The Commission, which was assigned by Governor Hogan, is performing a comprehensive review of Maryland’s business regulatory climate and will develop solutions to foster economic prosperity in the state. The Commission released its first annual report in December, highlighting input gathered from public outreach sessions hosted throughout Maryland.

Mr. Soltesz addressed over 60 MBIA members at the board meeting, thanking the building industry for being very active and identifying regulations within the state that are “business unfriendly.”

Mr. Soltesz is an MBIA Life Director and an active member of the association.
