Founded in 1789, Georgetown University is the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit University. Today, Georgetown is a major international research university. Soltesz provided surveying services to the University. The project was comprised of setting 47 horizontal and vertical control points located throughout the campus. Work included installation of survey control disks grouted into existing concrete structures or poured in place concrete posts. The firm provided complete monument reference plans to locate each control benchmark, as well as a site map of the entire campus. Soltesz was also on call for the reestablishment of benchmarks that were destroyed or needed to be reestablished due to ongoing construction.
