Soltesz Sponsors the 2017 Maryland Housing Conference

Soltesz sponsored the 2017 Maryland Housing Conference on September 20, 2017 in Baltimore. The Maryland Housing Conference is the largest and most comprehensive housing forum in the state. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has been partnering with the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) for the past 15 years. Community development leaders, housing authorities, home builders, legislators and more came together to discuss solutions and opportunities for home ownership in Maryland.

Jim Soltesz, President & CEO of Soltesz Inc., was the moderator of The Future of Suburban Communities session with panelists Jeff Caruso, CEO of Caruso Homes; David Flanagan, Principal & President of Elm Street Development, Inc.; and Val Lazdins, Planning Director for Howard County. In light of shifting economic factors and lifestyle preferences, suburban communities in Maryland are adapting. To stay competitive, some municipalities are investing in walkable spaces that feature a mix of uses – stands in opposition to the distinct separation of land uses that has defined suburban living for so long. Suburban counties are capitalizing on this trend to continue growth in Maryland.
